- Hello, I'm Bonnie and I am a Synodically Authorized Minister (SAM) SAM-I-Am! While not an ordained pastor, my ELCA synod, the Northwest Minnesota Synod, has authorized me to function as a minister of Word and Sacrament at First Lutheran of Salol. Rural churches sometimes have a challenge in attracting pastors and the SAM program allows for lay people like myself to provide ministry. I have been here at Salol since August of 2007 and together we are worshiping our Father God, Savior Jesus Christ and Counselor Holy Spirit. We bear each other up in fellowship, seek to grow in discipleship, minister to the needs of each other and the community and tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love! If you are in the area, feel free to join us for worship Sunday mornings at 9:00.
